Ready for stone countertops?

A countertop is only as good as its template. A slab cut to a drawing that does not match the cabinets leaves gaps at the wall, a seam in the wrong place or a sink cutout that does not line up. That is why measuring and fabrication belong to the same people.

Rain City templates your counters on the installed cabinets, fabricates the stone to that template, and installs it: kitchens, islands with waterfall edges, and bathroom vanity tops. You choose the material from samples we bring to your home, and the delivery, fabrication and installation are on our schedule.

What is handled for you

Every trade under one license

Rain City is a licensed, bonded and insured Washington general contractor. The plumber, the electrician and the tile setter are on our schedule, not yours.

Approved on screen first

The finished kitchen exists as a 3D model before anything is ordered or removed. Changes are made there, where they cost nothing.

Materials in, debris out

We buy and deliver the cabinets, stone and tile, take out the old kitchen and haul the debris away. Nothing waits in your driveway for someone else.

A written estimate and a one-year warranty

You get the estimate in writing after the in-home visit. The workmanship is covered for one year; materials by their manufacturers.

Stone by stone: what each material is

The samples make the choice easy to see. This is what you are choosing between.

Quartz

Engineered from ground quartz and resin. Non-porous, no sealing, consistent pattern from slab to slab. The most practical surface for a working kitchen.

Granite

Natural igneous stone, hard and heat tolerant, with a speckled or veined pattern that varies slab to slab. Sealed at installation.

Quartzite

Natural stone, harder than granite, often with the light veined look of marble. Sealed at installation.

Marble

Softer and more porous than quartzite; scratches and etches with acids like lemon and wine. Chosen for the look by people who accept the patina.

Dolomite

A natural stone between marble and quartzite in hardness, usually white or gray with soft veining.

Soapstone

Dense, non-porous and soft to the touch; darkens with oil over time. Scratches can be sanded out.

Schist

A layered metamorphic stone with mica that catches the light. Less common, more character.

Questions homeowners ask before a kitchen project

What is the best countertop material for a kitchen?

Quartz is our most popular recommendation for its durability, low maintenance and wide choice of colors and patterns. Granite and quartzite are excellent natural stone alternatives, while marble offers a timeless look and asks for more care.

Can you replace the countertops without changing the cabinets?

Yes, if the cabinets are level and sound. We template on the existing cabinets, remove the old counters and set the new stone in the same footprint.

Where will the seams be?

Seams are planned at the template stage, usually at the sink or the cooktop where they are shortest and least visible. On a straight run under a certain length there is no seam at all.

Do you install the sink and the faucet?

Yes. Undermount and farmhouse sinks are set with the counters, and the plumbing is reconnected under our license.

Does natural stone need sealing?

Granite, marble, quartzite and soapstone benefit from sealing; quartz does not. We seal natural stone at installation and tell you how often to repeat it.

Where can I see cabinet doors, stone and tile samples?

We bring them to your consultation, so you compare them at home in your own light. The full set is at our office at 10900 NE 4th St, Unit 2300 in downtown Bellevue, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Is there a warranty on the work?

Yes. One year on our workmanship. Materials are covered by their manufacturers' warranties.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We partner with financing providers and can help you find a payment plan that fits your budget, including low-interest and promotional options.
